Heather D. Zimmerman, 74, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Crestview Nursing Home.
She was born on November 5, 1936, in Dayton, Ohio, to Bruce and Dorothy (Hellman) MacPherson.
Heather was a 1955 graduate of Wilbur Wright High School. She adored her children and grandchildren, loved to dance, enjoyed nature and hiking, and followed the U.D. Flyers.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Don and David MacPherson and in-laws, Bob, Bill, Jack and Dick Zimmerman.
Heather is survived by her high school sweetheart, Donald “Butch”, whom she married 53 years ago; four children, Carol (Brian) Roberts, Craig (Toni) Zimmerman, Ed (Jeannie) Zimmerman, and Chrissy (Johnny) Waters; grandchildren, Nick and Amanda, Katie, and Kevin Roberts, Matt, Elisabeth, Micaela, Misha, and Sage Zimmerman, and Trevan Waters; her sisters, Ardy (Wil) Rutenschroer, and Carol (Dick) Jernee; sisters-in-law Dorothy and Marilyn MacPherson; in-laws, Norb and Jean Ann, Alice, Tom and Rita, Carol, Jerry and Norma Zimmerman, Rita Carnal, Marty and Ron Klosterman, Mary Lou Heitkamp, Aggie O’Donnel, Dottie and Larry Spatz, and Carol Jean Zimmerman; and 76 nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Vitas Hospice and the staff and residence at Crestview Nursing Home for their love and support.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2010, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dayton, with Father Tom Meyer officiating. Interment David’s Cemetery.
