John Fox Murdoch

U.S. Veteran
John Fox Murdoch was 86 years old when he went peacefully to be with the Lord on March 14, 2015. He had been a resident of Boulder City since 1967.
He was born to Reverend James and Katherine Murdoch February 16, 1929 in Sparta, IL. He had four brothers and a sister.
He was preceded in death by James, George and Lucille. He is survived by brothers Douglas and Robert.
He proudly served during WWII being stationed in Washington DC where he also played on the Navy Football Team.
He met Evelyn his wife of 63 years while attending Western Michigan University.
There he obtained his BS in history and a BA in geography, literature, music and education. He received his MA in education going on to be an administrator and teacher retiring after 35 years. Garret Jr. High School in Boulder City was his last teaching position. He was a musician with a history of playing the Viola, Violin and bag pipes. “Amazing Grace” could be heard at many Easter sunrise services.
He traveled, was an avid golfer and rock hound generously giving away many of the stones he had cut and polished.
He attended Green Valley Presbyterian Church for many years.
John is survived by his wife Evelyn, Paul Murdoch, Edie Murdoch, Kath and her husband Tim Kessler; grandchildren Krista Baker, Nathaniel Murdoch and Germaine Murdoch great grandchildren Audra and Trevor Baker. The family wishes to thank all those at Infinity Hospice for their wonderful support and care.

John was a wonderful man who loved much and was loved and admired by many. He will be greatly missed.
