Carl Ramsey age 76 of Rutledge passed away March 25, 2015 at his residence. He was the son of the late Hobert and Zulla Ramsey, and was a lifetime resident of Grainger County. Carl’s greatest delight was farming and growing giant watermelons; and he enjoyed picking his mandolin, joining various bluegrass jam sessions, and fishing. Carl was married to his wife Linda for 48 years, and worked alongside her at CR Daniels for 37 of those years. Carl was a member of Indian Ridge Baptist Church; and was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Dean Ramsey.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; daughter, Jennifer (Bobby) Allen; and grandson, Ryan Bull; brothers, Bobby and Wayne Ramsey; sisters, Lucille Swiney, Myrtle Roberts, and Christine Hodge; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 27, 2015 in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge with Rev. Gary Satterfield officiating. Graveside services will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday in Indian Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. prior to services Friday evening at the funeral home.
