Thomas McDowell was born in Ireland and came to Canada as a boy. In 1862 he married Sarah Menary; they had six daughters and two sons. He was a town councillor and a Public School Trustee. He was a shoemaker and after that a plasterer. This photograph was taken from "Milton Centennial 1857-1907".
