TEXAS CITY - Donald Ray Van Ness, 62, of Texas City, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2006, at U.T.M.B. in Galveston.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2006, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City with Pastor Carl Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Manvel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Van Ness was born November 15, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was an automobile salesman for Gay Pontiac. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy.

Survivors include his sons Donald Ray Bancroft of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Anthony Raymond Van Ness of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandson Justin Bancroft; sisters Freda Cook and husband Larry and Earlene Miner and husband Wayne, all of Texas City.

Pallbearers are Patrick Cook, Jimmy Cook, James Cook, Lloyd Hughes, Anthony Herm, and Kevin Lanterman. Honorary pallbearer is Darrell Bell.
