Clarence "Shorty" Edward Richards, 90, of East Bank, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House, after a long illness.

Shorty retired from C&O Railroad and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a longtime Christian, having been a Sunday school superintendant with East Bank Nazarene Church.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings.Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 69 years, Emogene Vealey Richards at home; children, Eddie Richards (Denise) of Ripley, Danny Richards (Linda) of Sturgis, Mich., Natalie Swartz (Dennis) of Dunbar, Darlene Jarrett (Greg) of Dunbar and Christa Workman (Lawrence) of Dry Branch; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Pryor Funeral Home, East Bank, with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Entombment will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.A gathering of family and friends will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
