SWAINSBORO -- Willie Waders Mercer, 70, died Aug. 5 of a drowning. He was born and educated in Treutlen County.
He was an Army veteran.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Rearcie Mercer of Swainsboro; a daughter, Conney Mercer of Swainsboro; three sons, Waders Mercer of King of Prussia, Pa., and Mitchell and James Mercer, both of Swainsboro; three sisters, Ola Mae Baker of Soperton, Veda Mae Strobridge of Nunez and Vertie Mae Brinson of Wilmington, Del.; and three brothers, Gerrie Hackett, Jake Ricks and Robert Goins, all of Swainsboro.

FUNERAL: 4 p.m. Sunday at Ohoopee Grove Baptist Church, burial in Swainsboro City Cemetery in Swainsboro. -Savannah Now, Aug 1999
