Delano Robinson Grasty was born on December 15, 1940 in Indian Mound, Tennessee, and he was the son of Buford Grasty (1898-1966) and his wife Mina E (Robinson) Grasty (1903-1966).
He was married about 1959 to Helen Downs (1941-2016), the daughter of Leonard T Downs (1909-1987) and his wife Robbie (Coleman) Downs (1908-1994).
Delano was a manager at Montgomery Wards, a farmer, a member and superintendent of the Indian Mound United Methodist Church, member of Indian Mound Masonic Lodge #303 and a member of the Stewart County School Board for over 30 years.
Still a resident of Indian Mound, Delano was 74 years old when he passed away on March 23, 2015 at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville.
Delano was preceded in death by his parents, by brothers James B Grasty and Bobby Grasty and by his sisters Myrtle Grasty and Ida (Grasty) Speight. Survivors included his wife; two married sons; a sister; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Masonic Service was held in his honor, and Funeral Services were held at Anglin Funeral Home, with burial in Seay Cemetery.
