Mrs. Jeanne L. Meek, 86, longtime resident of DuBoistown, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015, at The Williamsport Home.

Jeanne was a member of the South Williamsport United Methodist Church, involved with the Girl Scout program, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Felicitas Chapter. She was a member of Sorority Beta Sigma Phi and a member of the Nittany Lion Booster Club.

She was an avid Penn State Football fan. She enjoyed ice skating, pets, camping, travel and her family.
She also enjoyed poolside relaxation and sunbathing.

She was a graduate of the South Williamsport High School, Class of 1947.

Jeanne had been employed by the former Bell Telephone Company as a long distance telephone operator, retiring in 1970.

Born Feb. 28, 1929, at Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Beatrice Grier Schooley.

Surviving are her husband, Richard L. Meek, of DuBoistown; sons, James R. Meek, of DuBoistown, and Edward Allan (Linda) Meek, of Julian; her brother, Robert (Edna) Schooley, of South Williamsport; and several nieces and nephews.

She and her husband were married on Oct. 11, 1952. Together they shared more than 62 years of marriage.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport. Her pastor, the Rev. Mark D. Brumbach, will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
