Clyde Bradstreet Brewer was the oldest of four children born to Alvin and Euleen Brewer in Clifton, Texas on June 16, 1941. Clifton was the home of his beloved grandmother, and it was always "home" to him. Some of his fondest memories are the summers he spent there. He was a hard worker all his life. In his youth he mowed lawns, worked in movie theaters, and was a short-order cook. Over the years, he earned college degrees. He met Shirley in Arizona, and they married in 1967. Shortly after, he accepted a college administrator position in Calgary, Alberta. In 1971, he was hired as the Director of Records and Admissions at San Jose State University in California. It was as the University Articulation Officer that he created a new program. Working with a programmer, he developed the first official website to show equivalent courses that would transfer from California community colleges to SJSU. He became a leader in California articulation. Upon retirement, they moved to Burnet in 2007. He loved his house by the lake and its many roses. Gardening was a daily activity. He was also active at his church as head usher and on several committees. With nearby family and many new friends he enjoyed life in bluebonnet country. He is survived by his wife, four children, sister and brother-in-law, brother and sister-in-law, son-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
