Jeffrey C. Callahan, CFSP, 66 of Hamilton passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Compassionate Care of St. Francis.

Born in Trenton and raised in Hamilton, New Jersey, Mr. Callahan was a licensed funeral director and retired from Mercer County Community College (MCCC) in West Windsor NJ. While at MCCC he was awarded the Community Service Award and Human Relations Award from the Board of Trustees. He is also the recipient of the Alumni Leader Award. In 2002, he was honored by the facility association as MCCC’s finest advocate. Jeff currently holds the position of First Vice President of the Mercer County Funeral Directors Association. He is also a member of the NJ State and National Funeral Directors Association as well as the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice where he has a designated title of CFSP, and Chairman of the Scholarship Committee. He began his funeral directing career in 1971 working for the Ullrich Funeral Home, Edward J Douress Funeral Service, Thatcher-Lloyd Funeral Home, Vesci Limousine Services and other local funeral homes. He has been associated with Chiacchio Southview Funeral Home for many years.

He is a graduate of Steinert High School and also served on the 45th class reunion committee. He was a graduate of Mercer County Community College’s funeral service program. In 1975 he was the first student to enroll in the program after proudly serving in the United States Air Force. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and St. Anthony’s Parish. He served as membership chairman of the Hamilton Township Republican Club from 1990-2000. Member of the National Funeral Directors Association, and Cook Athletic Association.

Jeff is predeceased by brother in laws Leonard Muka and Arthur Tomczyk. He is survived by three loving sisters, Mrs. Marlene K. Tomczyk of Burlington NJ, Mrs. Carolyn K. Muka of Tobyhanna, PA, Mrs. Patricia K. Sampson (George) of Beverly, NJ, one brother, Martin J. Kennedy (Patricia) of Bridgeville, DE, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and one great great nephew. He is also survived by numerous cousins, great friends and colleagues.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday; March 23, 2015, 11:00am at St. Anthony’s Parish 626 S Olden Avenue, Trenton NJ 08629. Visiting hours will be held from 9:45 - 10:45 at the church Monday morning. Interment with military honors, St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane Hamilton NJ 08610.
