MARSHALL LANE

Mr. Marshall Lane, 88, of Valley, AL passed away on Tuesday, 24 Mar 2015 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. (EST) Thursday, 26 Mar 2015 at the Langdale United Methodist Church Family Life Center in Valley, AL with Rev Rusty Tate officiating. Interment will follow at Langdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. (EST) at the Langdale United Methodist Church Family Life Center.

Mr. Lane is survived by his son, Robert (Connie) Lane of Phenix City, AL; two grandchildren, Alex (Amy) Lane of Phenix City and Abby Lane (Gerald) Lauderman of Johns Creek, GA; three great grandchildren, Ali Lauderman, Luke Lauderman, and Avery Lane.

Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Sue Lane; his brother, L.M. Lane and his wife Jean Lane.

Mr. Lane was born 6 Jun 1926 in Langdale, AL to the late Pitt Milner Lane and Gussie Whitaker Lane. He was a member of Langdale United Methodist Church. He graduated from Emory Preparatory School in Oxford, GA and then from A.P.I. in 1948. He was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the last living Charter member of the Langdale Kiwanis Club and a member of the Fellodian Class at his church. He had worked for West Point Pepperell for over forty years. He had served as a director of the East Alabama Water, Sewer, and Fire District and on the Chattahoochee Valley Water Authority.

The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers and asks that memorials be made to the Langdale United Methodist Church Sanctuary Refurbishing Fund in his memory.
