Deborah Ann Hawkins died Sunday, March 23, 2015 at her home in New Brunswick. She was 64.

Born in Jersey City and raised in Avenel, she had lived in New Brunswick for over 20 years.

Surviving are her children; Carrie Portaro of New City, NY, Alisa Szedlacik of East Brunswick and Jason Catalano of Hamilton; grandchildren, Ryan Portaro, Chase and Nate Catalano. She is also survived by sisters, Joan Fizer of Toms River, Mary McDonald of Jackson and brother, Charles Hawkins of Greentown, PA.

Funeral services will be 9:15 AM Friday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 10:00 AM funeral Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church, New Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Treatment Advocacy Center, 200 North Glebe Road., Suite 801, Arlington, VA 22203.
