The deceased was the son of Fredrick C Tillman, who was killed in the Confederate service and a nephew of John King, former proprieter of the Enquirer-Sun. For the past 18 years, he had lived with his elderly aunt near Atlanta who was devotedly attached to him. He died at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Mary A. Baugh, from the effects of a paralysis stroke suffered last week. His remains were taken to Torbett's Chapel in columbus by his aunt as well as B.L. McGee and Ida McGee, relatives of the deceased. He was about 55 years of age. Henry Whittle of Columbus was a cousin. He will be buried in Linwood Cemetery following a service by Rev. Chester of St. Luke Methodist Church.
On the 1860 census, he is listed as 3 years old. His mother was Elizabeth King Tillman. She was the daughter of Henry King and Easter Jones King. After she was widowed, she and her 3 children lived with her brother, John King, for a while.
