Former Lodian Taken By Death At Auburn, Cal.
Elsie Grace Walkup, 68, of Lincoln, a former Lodi resident, died Tuesday in an Auburn hospital following a long illness.
She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and grew up in Montrose, Colo.
She came to California 27 years ago, and lived in the Lodi-Stockton area until three years ago when she moved to Oroville, and then to 604 H. St. in Lincoln.
She was the wife of Orin Walkup, of Lincoln; the mother of Mrs. Sybil Barrow, of Hinkley, Melvin Archer, of Fair Oaks, Grace Winklepleck of Hinkley, Dalbert Archer of Tracy, Forrest Archer, of Hayward, Don Archer, of San Francisco, Mrs. Dolly Cumberland and Robert Archer, both of Oroville.
She was the sister of Mrs. Lavetta Ireland of Stockton, Mrs. Bertha Chittenden of Galt and Karl Luman of Stockton.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
