Deceased Name: JOHN L. 'BUD' NEWCOMB SR.

John L. 'Bud' Newcomb Sr., 71, died Saturday after a long illness.
He was born in South Portland, Maine, a son of Susan M. Gibson and Carl L. Newcomb, and attended South Portland schools.
He was a World War II veteran.
Mr. Newcomb owned and operated Roadrunner Pest Control in Lake Havasu City for many years.
A son, Peter Michael Newcomb, died in November 1993.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years [married April 6, 1944, Portland, Maine], Irene Annabelle [Tamlyn] Newcomb; a son, John L. Jr. of Prescott; a daughter, Susan E. Thompson of Pownal, Maine; a sister, Mr. Forest (Bettyjean) Ryder of South Portland, Maine; two grandchildren and a great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 156 High St., Portland, Maine. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in South Portland.
Arrangements are by Best Funeral Services and Chapel.
