Martha Lucille Vanderburg, 92, of Poplar Bluff, Mo passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Westwood Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Vanderburg was born October 27, 1922, in Shelburn, IN, to the late Hobert Clark and Carmen Followell Clark.

On March 16, 1937, she and Cleo Vanderburg were married in Odessa TX. He preceded her in death in 1984.

Mrs. Vanderburg was a member of Southside Assembly of God Church in Poplar Bluff, where she was the secretary and treasurer for over 25 years and taught Sunday school for over 60 years. She loved spending time with her family, teaching small children, reading, crafting and going to her children and grandchildren’s ballgames.

Survivors include her children: Kelley Vanderburg (Dee), Russell Vanderburg (Betty), Tammie Newman (Ted), all of Poplar Bluff, and Robin Kassinger (Kent), of Dexter; a brother Harold “Bud”; and two sisters: Carol and Leah; 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four children: Kenneth Vanderburg, Judie Myers, Larry “Coy” Vanderburg, and Glen “Teddy” Vanderburg; four brothers: Jim, Leslie Jr., Clifford, and Alfred; and four sisters: Mary, Dorothy, Alta and Wanda.

Visitation will be Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. at Southside Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Pastor Jerry Lemons officiating.

Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
