Eleanore Lucille Benson Loomis, 93 passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in Chewelah, Washington. Eleanore was born June 22, 1915 in RollingBay, WA, in the home of Elder and Louisa Benson.
Eleanore lived most of her life on Bainbridge Island, WA, and in Edmonds, WA. She was the youngest of six and raised on a farm. Eleanore was a high-energy person, which helped with life on a farm. She married the love of her life Leon Loomis II in February of 1940. Eleanore was always surrounded by family and friends and made her a people person. She was an impeccable house cleaner; as she needed her home clean for all the visitors that would stop by at any given time. Eleanore loved to cook for everyone and anyone who would come by. She had a desire to try anything that seemed challenging to her, like when she learned how to make braided rugs and crochet. One of the greatest attributes Eleanore had was to say in touch with family and friends to make sure they where doing well.
Eleanore was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Loomis II; daughter, Cherie Buckles; son, Leon G. Loomis; sister, Anna Noble; brothers, Sig Benson, Burt Benson, George Benson, and Earl Benson.
She is survived by her daughter, Arleen and husband, G. William, of Chewelah, WA; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
There will be services at a later date.
