For the date and place of Florine's birth, see her mother's 1887 application for an emergency passport: /Ancestry/, U.S. Passport Applications, 1795–1925 (https://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=1174), Emergency Passport Applications (Passports Issued Abroad), 1877–1907; 1887–1888, Volume 056: Germany, image 271 of 724, passport no. 1301, Mrs. Rosetta Walter Stettheimer & 4 children, 14 December 1887.
Note that Ettie Stettheimer, who served as informant for her sister Florine's death certificate, incorrectly reported 1875 as Florine's year of birth (New York City, Manhattan Borough, death certificate no. 11188 (1944), Florine Stettheimer, 11 May 1944; Municipal Archives, Manhattan, N.Y. ), while author Susan Laxton incorrectly reported 29 August 1871 as Florine's birth date in: /Jewish Women's Archive: Sharing Stories, Inspiring Change/, Encyclopedia (https://jwa.org/encyclopedia/article/Stettheimer-Florine : accessed 28 January 2019), entry for Florine Stettheimer (1871–1944).

Notes: Find A Grave contributor Barbara Bloemik (#49851596) reports that Florine's ashes were "scattered in the Hudson River by her sister Ettie and her lawyer, Joseph Solomon." Find A Grave contributor Aaron Gullison (#47078252), citing as his source Barbara Bloemik's book, /The Life and Art of Florine Stettheimer/ (New Haven, Conn.: Yale University Press, 1995), reports that the scattering of Florine's ashes occurred in 1948.
