Mother of Adjutant-General of Oregon Passes Suddenly.
Mrs. Mary A. White, mother of George A. White, adjutant-general of Oregon, and Hal M. White, secretary to Mayor Baker, died early yesterday morning at the home of her son, Hal M. White, 121 Florida street, from heart disease.
Mrs. White was taken ill about wo weeks ago, but during the past few days had shown marked improvement and it was believed she would recover completely. Shortly after 2 o’clock yesterday morning her son heard her call. He went to her assistance but she died before medical aid could be procured.
Mrs. White was 70 years of age and was a native of Pennsylvania. She had been a resident of Portland for 10 years, having come here from Salt Lake. Since the death of her husband lst winter Mrs. White had been living with her son, Hal M. White.
Colonel White arrived home yesterday afternoon from Salem to attend the funeral which will be held at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon from Skewes’ undertaking chapel. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery.
