Mrs. Mayer was president of the Angola by the Bay Women's Club, president and ambassador of the Resident Council at The Villages at Harbor Pointe. She was truly a people person and loved by all who knew her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed greatly by all.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mayer was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David P. Mayer; a son, Timothy P. Mayer; a grandson, Eric Dusing and granddaughter Karen Mayer. She is survived by two sons, Gary Mayer and his wife Judith of Laurel, Md., and Jeffrey Mayer and his wife Patricia of Bowie, Md.; two daughters, and Roxanne Winkler and her husband James Madden of Annapolis, Md.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 11, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice, P. O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Harbor Pointe and Coastal Hospice for the care their mother received during her last days.
