Gladys V. (Collins) Gross, 74, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born Nov. 17, 1930, at Jonesville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Brownlow and Carrie (Gipson) Collins, and had been a resident of Lafayette for 65 years. Mrs. Gross was employed at Hudlow's Cleaners and Lafayette Home Hospital. She was a member of Harvest Chapel, and enjoyed reading the Bible, sewing, gardening and fishing.

Surviving are four sons, Donald Wheat, Edward Wheat, both of Lafayette, Danny Gross, and Virgil Gross, both of Kokomo; four daughters, Vivian Hurst, Monica Saylor, Brenda Kauffman, all of Lafayette, and Davina Gross of Kokomo; three sisters, Anne Treece, Dora Franz, and Katherine King; a brother, Wiley Collins, all of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, William Hurst and Randy Wheat; and a daughter, Connie Struthers-McManomy
