Ruby Melton Cross
GRAY — Ruby Melton Cross, 70, of Gray, went to be with The Lord on Friday (March 20, 2015) at the Johnson City Medical Center.
She was born in Kingsport and lived all of her life in this area. Ruby was a member of Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Kingsport. She loved to sing, read, cook, and dearly loved her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edith Melton; infant brother, Albert Franklin Melton; brother, Jerry Melton; sister, Nancy Sword; her grandparents; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Charles A. Cross; one d a u g h t e r,
Melanie A. Cross of Johnson City; sisters, Monnie Smallman of Gray, Linda Ruth Shields, of Dayton, Ohio; brothers, Robert Neal Melton, Teddy Melton, both of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
The family of Ruby Melton Cross will receive friends on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at East Tennessee Funeral Home, with Funeral Services to follow in our chapel with Rev. Bill Cody officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at East Tennessee Cemetery in the Garden of Everlasting Life.
