John Willis Stockton 1867-1913

John Willis Stockton was a son of William C. Stockton and Lydia (nee Bailey) Stockton, and a grandson of Samuel Stockton who married Mary "Polly" Mackey (or McKay) on 8 June 1815 in Franklin County, Kentucky.

1962 Obituary:
The funeral for Mrs. John W. Stockton, the former Leni Leoti Solomon, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at McAfee Funeral Home, 3928 Bardstown Rd. Buechel, Ky. Burial will be in Eastern Cemetery, Louisville, Ky.

Mrs. Stockton 86 died Saturday at the Lady of the Wood Nursing Home, 1023 Cherokee Rd. She was a former Portland area resident and a member of Portland Ave Church of Christ. She had been living with a daughter, Mrs. H. Edward Schreiner, 6105 E. Manslick Rd. Survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Joseph H. Schneider, Hopkinsville; a sister, Mrs. Burton Heeb, Rinard, IL; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

John Willis Stockton was a grandson of Samuel Stockton (c.1795-c.1845).

Research shows that Harold Allison Stockton is a descendant of Samuel Stockton (c.1791-c.1845). Harold's Y-DNA test results are 100% PROOF that he is NOT a direct male line descendant of the Davis Stockton family of Albemarle County, Virginia, or the Robert Stockton family of Pennsylvania, or the Richard Stockton family of New York and later New Jersey.
