Amos was a native of Randolph County, a veteran of the US Army, was formerly employed as maintence supervisor for Walker Shoe Company and later retired from Cleveland Twist Drill. He was the last living charter member of Coleridge-Erect fire dept, where he had served as past chief, assistant chief, and served on the board of directors. He attended Asheboro Pentecostal Holiness Church. Amos is preceded in death by his parents, George and Rachel Hayes Needham, sisters, Vera Asbill, Moleta Staley, Emma Ritter, Mary Caviness, brothers, Luther Needham, Brewster Needham, Edsel Needham, Kelly Needham and Monroe Needham.
Survivors: wife, Billie Campbell Needham, sons, Barry Dean Needham, and wife Sherri, and Mark Alan Needham, and wife Donna, all of Ramseur, sister, Rosa Owens, of Seagrove, brothers, Hansel Needham, and wife Ruby, of Asheboro, Joe Needham, and wife Nancy, of Seagrove, grandchildren, Ben Needham, and wife Katy, of Asheboro, Kristy Bennett, of Trinity, Jeffrey Needham, of Asheboro, great grandchildren, Ryan Needham, Gatlin Brown, Madilyn Poole, Jordin Needham, Camden Needham.
