Thomas “Thom” R. Metcalf, 44 of Scottsboro, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers were Jeff Gifford, Chris Winn, Dexter Gifford, Cedric Stephens, Tyler Hicks and Michael Newton. Interment followed in Gold Cemetery in Letcher.
Mr. Metcalf is survived by his sisters, Dee (Allan) Yurko, of S.C., and Kathy Metcalf Judge, of Scottsboro; nephew Phoenix McLeod, of Ga.; and nieces Jade Judge, of Scottsboro, Kimberly (J.R.) Griffith and Cheryl Newton, both of Ga.; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas “Tom” and Loretta “Lorie” Metcalf; and sister, Brenda Newton.
