Obituary:
Dr. Lorenzo S. Fox of Lowell died this morning. He was a son of Ralph and Sophia (Webster) Fox and was born in Dracut, Feb. 7, 1840. He received his degree of M.D. at Harvard, 1863, and afterward entered the service as Assistant Surgeon of the Twenty-sixth Massachusetts Regiment. He served with this regiment until July, 1864, when his time expired and he re-entered the service with the Army of the Potomac serving in front of Petersburg and Richmond. He began practice in Lowell in 1863, and gave particular attention to gynacology. Dr. Fox had been connected with the staff of the Lowell Hospital since the foundation of the staff in 1881. He was Councilor of the Middlesex North Medical Society, and President of it in 1876-77. He was also a member of the American Medical Association, the British Medical Association and the Boston Gynaecological Society. He served on the Lowell School Board in 1876-77. Dr. Fox was three times married, several children by his first wife surviving him. (Published in the Boston Journal, June 23, 1891)
