Sullivan County Democrat, Callicoon NY DOWN THE DECADES in an issue printed Tuesday April 9 2024 page 4A: 1944 PFC John B Waldron of Fosterdale was one of 15 American soldiers to receive the Croix de Guerre for action with the French forces in the Cassino area under the command of General Alphonse Guin.


John's parents were Charles J. and Minnie E. Waldron. Both were born in New York, he on July 26, 1888 in Brooklyn, she on August 14, 1890. They both died at St. Petersburg, Pinellas County Florida, He in June 1967 and she on February 24 1973.
