Funeral services celebrating the life of Sarah Edith Dodd Lowe will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2015 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Lloyd Whitman and Reverend Carl Gulde officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Colfax.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Hixson Brothers, Pineville Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 5:00-10:00 p.m. and continued Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Lowe, 90, of Colfax, passed from this life on Friday, March 20, 2015 at The Oaks Care Center, Pineville.

Mrs. Lowe worked for over 32 years for the Grant Parish School Board serving as cafeteria worker and manager at Colfax School. She was well known in Grant Parish for her great cooking and service to the children of Colfax School. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother a strong caring person who dedicated her life to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnis Wayne "B.W." Lowe; parents, Captain Joseph Dodd, Sr. and Nora Edith Bryant Dodd; brothers, Joseph "Sonny" Dodd, Jr. and Richard Lawrence Dodd; sisters, Josephine Calhoun, Shirley Ann Dodd and Rosa Aurelia Dodd; grandson, Nathan Shane DuBois and son-in-law, Kenneth "Sammy" Chandler.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Iris Lowe Chandler of Colfax, Ireace Lowe Waller and husband, Ronald of Denham Springs and Bernata Lowe DuBois and husband, Elmer of Verda; sisters, Anna Bell Racine of Colfax and Jo Beth Futrell of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Tammie Lynn Edwards, Jeffrey Kurt DuBois, Sandie Lane Parker, Ashton Wayne Waller, Dan'l Brandon DuBois and Misty Dawn Kelly; 15 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Troy Calhoun, Chad Meeker, Ashton Waller, John Powell, Bobby Kelly, Wesley Edwards, Donnie Parker and Kurt DuBois.

The family would life to extend a special thank you to The Oaks Care Center and Guardian Hospice for their compassion and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Colfax Cemetery or Guardian Hospice.
