Doreen was born in Saskatoon SK, on March 24, 1933. Her parents were Orley and Myrtle Neuert. She married Harold McDonald in 1951 in Redditt ON where they lived and worked until moving to Jasper AB. From Jasper they moved back to Redditt where they owned and operated the local store until 1979. Doreen and Harold then ran the band store in Grassy Narrows ON until their retirement in 1990. From 1990 – 2000, Doreen and Harold wintered in Arizona and ran the business in Redditt during the summer.
Doreen passed away at her residence in Redditt on 15 December 2009.
