Age 83 years. Buried April 30, 1864. Also known as Jean Pierre Sioussat, he was the doorkeeper for the White House during the Madison administration. He was also known as the first Master of Ceremonies of the White House. During the War of 1812 he helped rescue items from the residence, including the portrait of George Washington by artist, Gilbert Stuart.
