Emma Beatrice Ivey
November 17, 1919 - March 21, 2015
Mrs. Emma Beatrice Overman Ivey age 95, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Ivey was a life-long resident of Milledgeville and she married James Leland Ivey on February 14, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents John Parker and Alberta McCullar Overman, her husband James Leland Ivey, sisters Mary Pettigrew and Francis McCook, brothers John P. Overman, Jr. and Steadman M. Overman. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1953 and was a proud member of the Ladies Sunshine Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her daughter Rosemary I. Fordham Phillips (David) of Milledgeville, her son Paul D. Ivey (Kae) of Cumming, grandchildren: Andy Fordham (Haley) of Eatonton, Heather Fordham (D J Roland) of Milledgeville, Emily I. Cotton (Jamie) of Dayton, OH, Ansley I. Canby (John) of Cumming and Tory Ivey of Pittsburgh, PA, her great grandchildren, Camryn and Leland Fordham of Eatonton, Skylar Cox and Devin Roland of Milledgeville, Anne Nicolletta and Olivia Canby of Cumming, sister Hazel O. Gardner of Memphis, TN, sisters-in-law Kathryn Overman of Winston Salem, NC and Mary R. Overman of Fairfax, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to First Baptist Church P.O. Box 795 Milledgeville, GA 31059.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
