MR. KENNETH R.G. HESS, 88, of 5306 Wayne Road, Chambersburg, died Saturday morning, March 21, 2015, at Quincy Village.
Born September 15, 1926 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late John and Mildred (Bonebrake) Hess.
He and his wife, the late Dorothy M. (Shafer) Hess, were married on December 7, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD. They moved to their present residence in April 1960. Mrs. Hess died on March 30, 2014.
Mr. Hess worked for the Western Maryland Railroad, currently CSX, for over 42 years.
He was a member of Brethren Fellowship, Chambersburg, and he enjoyed working around the house, mowing the grass, and cars
He is survived by one son, Richard R. Hess and his wife, Judy of Waynesboro; two granddaughters, Nicole Yoder and Kirsten Decker, both of Chambersburg; four great-grandchildren, Zachariah, Zebulon, Hali, and Kadence; two sisters, Pauline Martin of Fayetteville and C. Marie Martin of Waynesboro; three brothers, John Hess, Jr. of Waynesboro, Walter "Doc" Hess of Mont Alto, and Robert Hess of Mont Alto; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded by one sister, Louise Whitmore; and one brother, Joseph Hess.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Manny Diaz and Roland Hess officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Brethren Fellowship, 339 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
