Curtis Bishop, 73, of Beech Grove, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his home.

The son of Wilburn “Will” and Mildred Irine Hutson Bishop, he was born March 13, 1942 in Russellville.

He was self employed as a professional mechanic for over 50 years.

Curtis was a member of the Stanford Baptist Church. He loved fishing, hunting, trapping game, being around his children, sightseeing, telling stories, working on cars and had a passion for helping others in need. Curtis never met a stranger, after meeting someone they became friends soon after.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Bishop of Beech Grove; 12 children, Leah Bishop, Quinn Bishop both of Beech Grove, Anthony Bishop of Elk City, OK, Brooks Bishop, Douglas Bishop both of Mangum, OK, Russell Bishop of Weatherford, OK, Andrew Bishop of Alaska, Michael Bishop of Oklahoma City, OK, Lorie Herrera of Pecos, NM, Karren Sue, Linda Gale, Janet Quiroz all of Mangum, OK; four sisters, Patricia Freeman of Russellville, JoAnn Bowen of Scotland, Sharron Robinson of Russellville, Gale Wages (Jimmy) of Dover; four brothers, Jackie Bishop of Russellville, Roger Bishop (Carolyn) of Russellville, Neal Bishop (Doris) of Fentress, TX, Danny Bishop (Mary) of Dover and multiple grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be held at 3:30 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville, burial will follow by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 2:50 pm, on Saturday, at the funeral home.
