He farmed near the Greensboro and Goldsboro, Maryland areas, and worked for the Medford Feed Mill near Henderson, Maryland before retiring in 1975. He Married Mary Emma Hutson of Goldsboro on Nov. 18, 1934.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a son, Alfred James Edwards Sr. of Henderson; three sisters, Thelma Breeding of Hepburn, Georgia Palmer of Felton, Del., and Marie Parrott of Tampa, Fla. (formerly of Greensboro); and six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
