Jean G. Madden, age 79, 1021 East Fifth Street, Bloomsburg died Monday, April 1, at Grandview Health Homes, Danville, where she had been a resident since April 2007.
Jean had lived on E. Fifth Street for over thirty-five years. Jean was born June 24, 1929 in Bloomsburg, the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Beryl Isobel (Werkheiser) Gorrey. She was a 1947 graduate of Bloomsburg High School. Jean was employed as a bookkeeper for the former Bloomsburg Builders Supply and former Keller Wholesale and an accountant for the former Montour County H. U. D. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for over fifty years.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Madden, Sr. in 1982. Survivors include her son: Thomas E. Madden, Jr. and his wife Belinda, Orangeville; her daughter Gerry Edwards and her husband, Harold E. "Whitey", Bloomsburg; two grandsons: Mark T. Edwards and his wife, Kristine, Arkedelphia, Ar. and Matthew T. Edwards, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a. m. from Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eight St. Bloomsburg with her pastor, Rev. Jay E. Jones officiating. Burial will be in New Rosemont Cemetery
