Sheila Melinda Evans was born in Camden, NJ on June 14, 1958. On August 21, 1975 she married Eugene Simmons. She relocated to Lebanon in June of 1995. On Wednesday March 18, 2015 at 5:32am., Sheila went home to be with the Lord. She had worked in the IT Department of HACC for several years and was a member of St. John's AME Church, Lebanon. She won the Ms Black Teenage World Beauty Pageant of Camden County and of New Jersey in 1975 and was the recipient of the Wilbur Wright Speaking Award in high school. In addition to her parents and husband Rev. Eugene R. Simmons, Sr. she is survived by children: Eugene R. Simmons, Jr., Shanni A. Petrino, Nikki M. Thomas, Sophia E. Lofland; 8 grandchildren; siblings: Keith Evans, Troy Evans, Eric Evans, Veronica Evans, Gail Evans, Jeffery Evans; 4 nieces and a nephew and a host of family and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend homegoing services at 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday March 25, 2015 in the Quentin UCC, 11 W. Main St., Quentin, PA 17083 where a viewing will begin at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be made in the National Cemetery at Ft. Indiantown Gap at 2:30 P.M. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Sheila's memory to St. John's AME Church, 1244 Walnut St., Lebanon, PA 17042. The Rohland Funeral Home is honored to serve the family with the arrangements.
