My great-uncle Virgil was a man full of life and happiness. With his first wife Bessie Lee Price (1884-1929) he had eleven sons and three daughters; with his second wife Viola Strother who died shortly after, one daughter; and with his third wife Winnie Pittman Williamson, one son and one daughter. His father Daniel Wayne Yeager fought at the Battle of Corinth in the Civil War, his grandfather Lewis Yeager at the Battle of New Orleans, and his great-grandfather John Yager in the American Revolution. His descendants have held the annual Yeager Family Reunion annually just outside Wiggins, Mississippi, for many years.
