Daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Boyd Heister, she was married, a housewife, lived at 148 14th St, Franklin, died in Franklin Hospital of myocarditis and arteriosclerosis, per death certificate 64783, whose informant was D. J. McVay of Franklin. Buried Jun 7 1917.

Mrs. Rebecca Jane Heister McVay died in Franklin Hospital at 10:15 pm yesterday after a serious illness of a few days, failing health for two years. She was born July 12, 1851, in Washington, PA, daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Heister.


Her death was particularly sad as it came on 13 hours after the death of a daughter, Mrs. Carrie S. Perrine, who died yesterday morning. Soon after her birth, the family moved to Pittsburgh, the to Venango County in 1862, settling at Two Mile Run. She was a member of Protected Home Circle, and lived 44 years at the house on the corner of New and 14th Streets.


On Aug. 29, 1866, she married Daniel I. McVay, who survives, with children, Mrs. William Krimmel, Frank McVay, W. A. McVay, Mrs. Al Sherman, and Earl McVay, all of Franklin, and Dan McVay of Ashley, IN; and a sister, Mrs. Frank Speicher of Beechview, PA.


Services for both mother and daughter will be at 2 pm Thursday at the home with Rev. S. V. Carmany of United Evangelical Church officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
