Seneca – Lou Frances Shedd Gilliam, 78, of 335 Gilliam Drive, passed away Monday, March 09, 2015 at her residence.

Born in Fair Play, she was the daughter of the late Wilton and Lou Clarence Durham Black. Mrs. Gilliam retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of Miracle Way Church in Seneca.

Survivors include sons, Clyde and Ricky Shedd, Alfred and Hershel Shedd; daughters, Cindy Powell and Mary Holland, Martha Dodgens; 9 step-children; brothers, Tillman, David, John Wayne and Tommy Black; sisters, Eunice Rowland, Mary Woolbright, Jeannie Barnett, Pauline Black and Claudine Payne; thirty-two grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Shead; her second husband, Darby Gilliam; sons, Junior Shedd, Jerry, Charles, and Fred Junior Shead; daughters, Doris Owens and Alice Shead; and brother, Daniel Black.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from the chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
