Alfred F. Rose, 71, of R. 1, Port Washington, died Monday morning at Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee, where he had been a patient for five days.
He was born Dec. 15, 1905, in Essen-Schonnebeck, Germany, the son of William and Marie Solty Rose.
On Oct. 5, 1940, he married Esther Liebenstein at her parents' home in the Town of Port Washington. After marriage the couple farmed in the Town of Port Washington until retiring in 1969.
Mr. Rose was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his widow; a son, William of Saukville; four daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Carol) Schneider of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Martin (Sandra) Grimord of Grafton, Mrs. Myron (Linda) Kellar of Port Washington, and Miss Rachel Rose of Port Washington; eight grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Axnick and Mrs. Stanley Lesnak, both of Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grand Avenue Church. Dr. Lee D. Downs, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Kiel Cemetery, Kiel.
Friends may call at the Horn-Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, from 4 to 9 p.m. today and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
