Irene was born April 25, 1930, in Door County, a daughter of the late Fred and Erna (Boness) Erdmann. She graduated from Southern Door High School in 1947. On Sept. 9, 1950, she married Daniel J. LeClair at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. He preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2003. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Two Rivers; a member of the choir; and was active with the quilters of the church. She enjoyed spending time at her trailer at Chaudiers Dock; she loved gardening, her dog, and the Green Bay Packers. Above all, she enjoyed the time spent with her family.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Gary and Maureen LeClair of Two Rivers; one grandson: Christopher (Michelle) LeClair, Two Rivers; two step grandchildren: Jessica Hoffmaster and her husband, Todd of Oregon, Wis., and Joseph Wilhelm and his wife, Wendy of Manitowoc; four stepgreat-grandchildren: Brady Korte, Shawn Tuma, Rory Wilhelm, and Joseph Wilhelm, Jr. She is further survived by two sisters and a brother: Marian Kunstmann, Shoto, Doris (Kenneth) Mueller, Two Rivers, Marvin (Bernice) Erdmann, Elkhart Lake; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law who include: Diane Erdmann of Green Bay, Gerald LeClair, Two Rivers, Edward (Iris) LeClair, Arkansas, Ruth LeClair, Violet LeClair, Joan Paulow, and Carol (Delmar) Meissner all of Two Rivers; her godchildren: Sara Radginski and Paul Kunstmann; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her very special dog "Maggie".
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Dale and Donald Erdmann; and in-laws: Irene (Stanley) Lachowicz, Loraine (Elmer) Miller, Elmer (Ethel) LeClair, Hilary LeClair, Rueben LeClair, and Daniel Paulow.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3234 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. The Rev. David Hintz will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, and at the church Thursday morning, after 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
