Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, William Earnest and Emma Singley Henry; sisters, Mertis Collier and Ruby Parker; brothers, Earl Preston Henry, Marvin Earnest Henry, Sr., and Robert Virgil (R.V.) Henry.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Louise Banks Henry; sons, Jerry William Henry and G. Steven Henry (Dottie); daughter, Mary Henry Smith (Ted); grandchildren, Dana Henry Langston (Bruce), Kris Henry Ross (Robert), Jeffrey Wilson Dyar, Amy Dyar Galloway, Megan Herzlinger Henry (Brian), Avery Lauren Henry, Sarabeth Sutton Henry and Justin Henry-Waldrop; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Henry was born on December 17, 1922, in Greensboro, Alabama. He attended Tuscaloosa County High School. He retired from Reichhold Chemical Company in 1984. He was a devoted and loving family man, an avid fisherman and a prolific gardener. He was a member of Robertson Chapel Baptist Church.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be friends and members of Robertson Chapel Baptist Church, nieces and nephews, the staff at Hospice of West Alabama, and Dr. Stephen D. Browne.
