She started playing the card game, Rook, at an early age and was very good at it. Her father's love of the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team was passed on to her. She was "true blue". Russell and Evelyn loved to travel and took their family on several nice trips. Together they made a wonderful home and wonderful memories. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, flowers, and music. She could play the harmonica and greatly encouraged her brother, Lindsay, her son, Tony, and grandson, Josh, in their singing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Lee and Lindsay Medley. She is survived by her children, Doris June (the late Willie) Milton, Joyce (Allen) Stivers, Wayne (Vicky) Prather and Tony (Karen) Prather; ten grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of Evelyn's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday at the Buck Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. David Campbell, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
