Lorraine Keiper Murray, 90, of Grindstone, went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Her dedicated family encircled her during her final hours with great love and devotion. She was born Sept. 10, 1924, to the late Theol and Mary Anna Pizzano Keiper. Lorraine was the beloved wife of deceased John A. Murray Sr. for 55 years. She assisted him in the family business, Murray's Service, for many years. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints and studied the Bible diligently with her siblings and church members. She was a wonderful baker, cook and seamstress. She took great pride in making decorative and delicious cakes for many birthdays and weddings. Her picture albums displayed her unique talent for cake decoration. She delighted in trying new recipes and sharing them with family and friends. Lorraine enjoyed time spent traveling with her family, especially to Army reunions with her husband. She traveled many times with her family to their cabin Camp Grindstone in Elk County. She was a member of the Center in the Woods and shared many friendships while there. Lorraine was an avid bowler. She loved children and was very happy to spend time visiting with her great-grandchildren. Family reunions were also very special to her. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. A special thanks to the staff at Hillside Manor for their excellent care She was predeceased by her brothers, Theol, Harold and Charles Keiper; and sisters, Jean, Virginia, Cheryl and Dixie. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Elder Thomas Hamer and Elder William Mines officiating. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
