The son of Beriah Wetmore II(1707-1790) and Hannah Bowman(1711-1763), married at age 24 to Abigail Doud(1737-1796), with whom he fathered seven children: Andrew Wetmore(1768-1839), Mary Wetmore(1770-), Samuel Wetmore(1773-1832), Nathaniel Wetmore(1774-), Asahel Wetmore(1777-1822), Lemuel Wetmore(1778-)and Philip Wetmore(1779-1883). Resided in 1790 at Greenfield, Hampshire, Massachusetts. Became widower sometime after 1779 and remarried on October 13, 1796 to Mary Barrett at Dudley, Worcester, Massachusetts. Removed to Vermont sometime thereafter.
