David Charles DeBoer, age 57 of Brandon, died on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at St. Agnes hospital in Fond du Lac.

David was born in Waupun on February 23, 1952 to Charles Jr. and Twilah (Meenk) DeBoer. He graduated from Rosendale-Brandon High School with the class of 1970. David developed a love for amateur photography and was employed at Moraine Park Technical College in the audio-visual department. He later attended technical training in Green Bay. On January 15, 1974, he married Regina Peterson at her parent’s home in Brandon. David served his country with the United States Army from February 25, 1974 to February 24, 1977, as an audio visual specialist to the paratroopers. He became a lifetime member of the 14th Armored Division, attending their reunions with his parents. David was a stock room manager for Kohl’s Department Store for many years. He was currently employed with the State of WI Department of Corrections in Fox Lake since 1991. David was a loving father and an avid fisherman, who passed on a lifetime of enjoyable memories for his children and grandchildren. He also shared a passion for genealogy with his mother.

David is survived by his two sons, Charles DeBoer, of Brandon; Garrett (Amanda) DeBoer, Randolph; his two daughters, Betsy (Jake) Hamm, and Mary (Dave) Stariha, both of Brandon; his wife of twenty-six years, Regina DeBoer, Brandon; eleven grandchildren, Casey; Madison; Bradley; Samuel; Joey; Ray; Lucy; Allie; Annabelle; D.J.; and Ava; his parents, Charles Jr. and Twilah DeBoer; a brother, Bruce (Kathy) DeBoer, Ripon; a sister, Charlotte (Verlyn) Rebelein, St. Clair Shores, MI; two nieces, Kristen Rebelein; Khan (Jonathon) Dukes; and two nephews, Ben (Mindy) DeBoer; and Nghiep (Jessica) Trang.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun. The Rev. Randall Knoll will officiate, and Honor Guard will be provided by members of the Fox Lake Correctional Institution. Burial will follow in the Brandon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday at the funeral home from noon until the hour of service.
