Roger L. Harrison, 92, Brainerd, died March 17, 2015.

Services were held Monday, March 23, at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home, Brainerd Chapel.

Roger was born and raised in Hornick, IA. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy flight program in 1942 during WWII and became an aircraft carrier pilot flying the TBF Torpedo Bomber. He was Honorably Discharged as a Lieutenant after the war.

Roger graduated from Iowa State University in 1947 and began a career in radio and television, first with WOI in Ames, IA, then WBZ-TV in Boston, MA. In 1952, he moved to Minneapolis and was employed at KSTP-TV as an Advertising Sales Executive. He retired in 1986 after 34 years at KSTP-TV.

He married Phyllis Hines September 1, 1946, at Grosse Ile, MI. They were members of Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis for over 50 years. In 2004, they moved to their home on Gull Lake and later to Edgewood Vista in Brainerd.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Harrison.
