Great Grandma died from complications of the birth of her second child, Lawrence Robert Chesnut, in August of 1901. Aware that her health was failing, she had her Last Will and Testament written and filed with the court. Her love for her family was demonstrated by her last wish....that Robert Andrew marry her best friend and cousin, Burdette Stella Gash. Her wishes were carried out, to the letter. In 1951, when Andrew Chesnut passed, he was buried next to his beloved Lolah.
