She grew up in the Dodge, NE area and attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and graduated from Dodge High School in 1952. She worked in the Dodge Cafe while in high school. After graduation, Marleen moved to Fremont where she worked at the F. W. Woolworth Store. She married Lambert Kluthe on June 26, 1956 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. The couple moved to Howells for one year before moving back to Fremont. She worked at Western Electric, Kings Food Host, and at J C Penny for seventeen years before retiring in 1998.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Patrick's Women, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the St. Patrick's Festival Committee.
Survivors include her husband, Lambert; son, Gary and wife Melissa Kluthe of Omaha; daughter, Lori and husband Jim Williamson of Omaha; sisters, Karen and husband Peter Howley of Fremont and Donna Pollock of Omaha; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M. Saturday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Father David Belt will officiate. Catholic Daughter's Rosary will be 7 PM, Friday with visitation on Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Archbishop Bergan Elementary School in Fremont.
